Man Arrested for leaving the scene of an Accident resulting in a Death

* UPDATE: 1635hrs Alex Taormina has been located and is now in Custody *

On the evening of 5/26/20 Deputies with the Covington County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a single vehicle accident on Casio Taormina Road with injuries.

When Deputies arrives they located a vehicle off the roadway that had struck a tree. The driver of the vehicle had fled the scene prior to Deputies arriving. The passenger of the vehicle was later pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the accident.

Deputies were able to determine the driver of the vehicle to be an Alex Dale Taormina, 19yo W/M. The Covington County Sheriff’s Office has Issued a warrant for the arrest of Alex Taormina for leaving the scene of an accident; resulting in a death.
