Updated: May 13, 2020

A Saturday evening traffic stop in Mt Olive lead to two men being arrested for drugs and child endangerment charges. Mt Olive Police pulled over a vehicle and called for assistance from the Sheriff’s Office on the traffic stop.

The vehicle was occupied by 4 adults and 5 children. During a search of the vehicle and its occupants by officers and deputies, Marijuana, Paraphernalia, as well as Methamphetamine was discovered weighing approximately 7.7 grams.

Two of the occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody for the drugs and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Because of the children being in the vehicle within close proximity to where the drugs were located the two offenders were also charged with Felony Child Endangerment.
